My career in small engine repair began in 1970 when I took classes in junior high school at 12 years old. Back in those days all small engines had adjustable ignition points, the carburetor float was made of cork and gasoline contained lead.

In high school I was enrolled at the Oakland Schools Technical Southeast Campus (OTEC) in Royal Oak. I completed the outdoor power equipment theory and repair curriculum to earn a certificate in outdoor power equipment repair in 1977. I was involved in numerous experimental applications. I also worked at a local outdoor power equipment dealership while attending high school.

After high school I attended Oakland Community College (OCC). I graduated with an Associate Degree in Science and a certificate in welding in 1979. I worked part time (work study) at OCC as an outdoor power equipment service technician repairing and maintaining the lawn and snow equipment at the Auburn Hills campus.

I continued my education in East Lansing where I graduated from Michigan State University (MSU) with a Bachelor Degree in Science in 1981. I was involved in various projects that incorporated small engines for future applications. I did 2 summer internships (1980-1981) at the Tecumseh Outdoor Power Equipment World Headquarters in Ann Arbor.

I was a US Air Force Aerospace Science JROTC instructor at Southfield High School from 1989-1992

I have extensive knowledge of both 2 cycle and 4 cycle engine operation including electrical, ignition, and fuel system operations. During my 50+ years of outdoor power equipment repair and maintenance, I honed my skills on identifying transmission, steering, and hydraulic problems. I thoroughly enjoy the everyday challenges of small engine repair.

I am a Master Welder with many years of experience in mig, tig, plasma, arc, and gas. I have built my own diagnostic equipment and specialty tools when the need arises. I have designed and fabricated parts as a solution to issues that required additional attention.

My partner is a GMC Safari cargo van fully loaded with state-of-the-art diagnostic equipment.

Numerous modifications are updated constantly to the Safari to bring the big shop repairs to your location. The Safari is stocked with all the latest tools and parts to get your outdoor power equipment up and running quickly. A one ton electric crane is built into the back of the Safari that lifts tractors and zero-turns straight up for all repairs. An onboard computer with WIFI hotspot access and bluetooth technology is used for additional assistance. The Safari meets all OSHA compliance safety requirements and is GREEN FRIENDLY.

I have current full coverage business insurance for your protection. I am fully licensed with the state of Michigan as a mobile repair service.The license is up to date. I have a current federal tax identification number. I am bonded. I carry all 4 of the above documents in the Safari. I am more then happy to allow you to view them.
